Our strategic community interventions
Our LGBTIQA+ Work
We champion equality, dignity and safety for LGBTIQA+ people through advocacy, psychosocial support, and community awareness. Our programmes include counselling, safe-space referrals, rights education, and workshops that confront stigma in families, schools and public institutions.
Our GBVF Work
SGADC provides trauma counselling, emergency transport, court accompaniment and long-term support including a basket full of psychosocial support to survivors of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, their families and friends. We run prevention campaigns, men’s dialogues and interfaith engagements to change harmful norms. Our GBVF response is victim-centered and operates year-round as part of our GBVF 365 commitment. We also provide court support and support to the Kimberley Police Station Victim Friendly Room. We also partner with the DSD Shelter, Thutuzela Care center Galeshewe and the Women to Women Centre (Shelter)
Youth Development Initiatives, Food Garden Project and Humanitarian and Charity Services
We focus on empowering NEET youth (Not in Education, Employment or Training) with life skills, employability and entrepreneurship training. Our youth activities use sports, arts and cultural projects to build confidence and civic participation. Our community food gardens promote food security, training and sustainable livelihoods. Participants learn organic gardening and nutrition; fresh produce supports feeding programmes and families in need. SGADC delivers emergency relief including food parcels, clothing and essential items to survivors and households in crisis. We coordinate referrals, immediate shelter assistance and partner with local actors to reach the most vulnerable.
